ReplyDeleteIt's funny how many of us take fear for granted without realizing that we live in it everyday. I'll admit that I've allowed fear to hinder me from pursuing my dreams/passion but after a decade of being overcomed by it, I made the decision to challenge it. ReplyDeleteGreat work. This would rock spoken word. Great deal of truth, especially in reconciling with former beliefs and loss... this is a tight write and flows with emotional emphasis.
ReplyDeleteA very powerful piece!

ReplyDeleteIt seems like you're having a bad day, but meanwhile it inspired amazing poetry. "I'm destined to captain emptiness sailing the waters of a discarded sea." Really moving. I think I might be having the same day. Hang in there....your poetry is beautiful!
ReplyDeletevery strong opening lines...took me right into the scene and i know what you're talking about...powerful!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing work! So many lines I loved in this. The last two are killers. Very raw, intense. I agree that this would be great read out loud.
