This is a powerful, creative poem. I enjoy your presentation as well as your words. Victoria http://liv2write2day.wordpress.com/2010/11/01/jingles-poetry-potluck-all-hallows-eve/
The last line is very powerful. Nice word play.
ReplyDeletesalvation rides shotgun

Nice. I liked the 3-ring circus as a venue for the particular brand of fear you write of, quite effective.
The last stanza is brutally frank....The truth is often painful. A hard hitting piece but never a dull read.
ReplyDeleteI like the circus metaphor, and what's happening 'in tents' :O)
ReplyDeleteYou're an amazing poet. All of your poems are so thought provoking and full of feelings that are very relatable. That picture is amazing as well!
ReplyDeleteI also like "salvation rides shotgun with sacrilege" very much. Like the poem and its intensity within the big top setting.

That was powerful. Gave me the creeps. Take that as a compliment. I think you are very creative.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by your poetry. It is deep and meaningful, very powerful use of words to draw in the reader. Impressive
